Nikki & Rich – Dreaming (played on Hellcats episode I Say A Little Prayer)

Hellcats is a new series about cheerleading. I won’t do a review here because that’s not what this post is for. At the end of season 1 episode 2, I Say A Little Prayer, there’s a scene in the bar when they all start dancing and the track that was playing immediately grabbed my attention! So I googled and searched all over but even on the TV network’s own website they had the wrong track listed!

Eventually I discovered it was by Nikki & Rich and is a song called Dreaming 🙂 I’ve transcribed the lyrics but I must say, this was the hardest song I’ve ever transcribed! There’s one line I’m still not 100% sure what she’s saying but I’ve made a guess as best I can – if anyone can tell what is actually being said in the question-marked line then let me know 🙂

You can find the track on youtube (not the official video) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuuW4qAU8rk

Now here are the much awaited lyrics that aren’t anywhere else online yet! Enjoy 🙂

Nikki & Rich – Dreaming

Mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm.
Mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm.

When did the angel loose her wings,
When she flew from the ground and adopted dreams.
All the gold melted down and the gates were closed,
Life was revealed and the past exposed.
Sent away from the land of the green,
Forced to dig a hole to be a home for the dream.
Betcha never thought I’d get out of the fields,
That’s what gave me life and time really heals.

Oh oh oh from a back to forth,
It’s just a go go go from the side to north.
Listen no no no can’t sell me short,
It’s just a oh oh oh, just a row oh oh.

I’m getting somewhere,
I’m getting somewhere.
I’m gonna be there,
I’m gonna be there.

Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.

When did the angel fade from white,
Lost her place in the clouds,
Took her queues from the night.
Set appart by the fall that destroyed her grace,
But the heat from the flames never touched her face.
Arise in the day of the blazing sun,
Saw above all the hate in the need of blood,
I was pressed to succum to the dragging down,
Yeah my hand grabbed the line and I pulled me out.

I get so fly away,
My glory day,
I’m on my way.

I see the seasons change,
And I know the cold will freeze the pain.

Over the meadows and through the woods,
All through the ground all grows with bloom. <—(?????)

I see the lining as my view to the sun,
Got the wind at my back cause a change gonna come.

I’m getting somewhere,
I’m getting somewhere.
I’m gonna be there,
I’m gonna be there.

Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.
Been dreaming dreaming dreaming.

NLX – Young Love

Thanks to watching Brothers & Sisters last night I discovered a band called NLX. I really loved one of the tracks of theirs, Find Love, that was shown at the end of episode 4 (Righteous Kiss), but in finding out what that track actually was I discovered another of theirs that I really like. This one is called Young Love and is on their newest album called Bitch Get Fit.

This track is very different to the one shown on Brothers & Sisters, this one is more edgy and “darker” and I love it a lot!

Here is a link to the music video for the track on youtube but I will warn you that there is swearing in the track twice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlgCzEK9ZwY

Again, because nowhere seemed to have the lyrics written out for the track, I’ve transcribed them here for you all. Enjoy! 🙂

Young love,
It keeps you up,
It hardens the heart,
From the start,
Young love,
It’s all the rage,
Until you’ve tried it.

My tongue,
Says things I need to say,
Things you need to hear,
Things all just fall away,
My tongue’s,
Kind of tired.

Your 9 to 5 ain’t my ideal,
Go team go f*** yourself.
I’m not pretty in the morning,
But I clean up nice.

Your 9 to 5 ain’t my ideal,
Go team don’t trust yourself.
I’m not pretty in the morning,
But I clean up nice.

It’s my life.

Your thoughts,
Are broken words,
Your heart,
Is hurt, hurt, her fault,
Having been abandoned,
Baby.

My plans don’t involve a 2.5,
A picket fence.
No.
None of that nonsense,
I’m not judging your jury,
Baby.

Your 9 to 5 ain’t my ideal,
Go team go f*** yourself.
I’m not pretty in the morning,
But I clean up nice.

Your 9 to 5 ain’t my ideal,
Go team don’t trust yourself.
I’m not pretty in the morning,
But I clean up nice.

Its my life.
Its my life.
My life.
My life.

NLX – Find Love (played on Brothers & Sisters episode Righteous Kiss)

Don’t you just hate it when you watch a TV show and they play a really great piece of music in it, you google to find out what it is and…. nothing. It drives me crazy and it’s been happening a LOT lately with all sorts of different shows that I watch. So I’ve decided that when I actually do find out what the song is, I shall post about it here in my blog, complete with lyrics and link to the music video if possible 🙂

Last night’s episode of Brothers & Sisters, Righteous Kiss, (season 5, episode 4) had a really beautiful song at the end of it and after much googling and youtubing and all sorts of other things, I discovered it was a band called NLX and the track is called Find Love.

Here is a music video link to the track on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TInckx0mLQ

As nowhere had the lyrics for this track written down (not even on NLX’s own website), I have transcribed them here for you all, enjoy! 🙂

NLX – Find Love

I’ve finally forgotten,
I’ve put down my sword,
I’ve come to accept that,
This weight wasn’t mine it was yours.

I’ve got no illusions,
I’ve cut through this cord,
Got no more addictions,
See these veins can’t endure that much more.

But when you can find love,
If you can find love,
If you can find love,
Then you forget everything…

You ever said,
Every word that hung over my little head,
Every moment we spent,
Hold your breath,
Count to 10.
Start again.
Start again.

And when you can find love,
If you can find love,
If you can find love,
Then you forget everything.

If you can find love,
If you can find love,
If you can find love,
Then you forget everything.

(interlude)

Oh when you can find love,
If you can find love,
If you can find love,
Then you forget everything.

If you can find love,
If you can find love,
If you can find love,
Then you forget everything.
(repeats in background to end)

Hold your breath,
Count to 10.
Start again.
Start again.

Hold your breath,
Count to 10.
Start again.
Start again.

Start again.
Start again.

Start again.
Start again.

A Woman’s Prerogative

I’ve had a bit of a re-think since my first post (yes, a long time ago now!) and want to do a bit more with this blog than I originally thought.

There are products, events and other things that will interest the modern woman and I am still going to write about those. But I find that some days I want to write about things that have happened to me that day, things that don’t really fit into any kind of review category but still something I think will be of interest.

So I’ve changed my mind from the initial thoughts for this blog, although not too drastically 🙂 I think having something more settled in my mind will help me to write here more too, also I have a second blog that I started at the beginning of this month to follow my plight of weight loss before my wedding in 6 months!
